Internships at NEDAP
NEDAP runs a comprehensive internship program for undergraduate, graduate, and law students. Past NEDAP interns have prepared GIS maps of financial services patterns in NYC neighborhoods; drafted comment letters to banking regulators; participated in community and coalition meetings; reached out to grassroots groups; conducted surveys of area merchants, banks and check cashers; and much more.
To apply for an internship, please submit a resumé and cover letter by email to hiring@nedap.org. Be sure to explain in your cover letter why you would like to work with NEDAP.
Deadlines for applications are as follows:
- Fall internship: September 15
- Spring internship: January 15
- Summer internship: March 1
Law Intern Positions
NEDAP's Consumer Law Project seeks law interns to help staff the NYC Financial Justice Hotline, which provides legal advice, information, and referrals to low income people in the areas of credit, debt, and lending discrimination. Working closely with our staff attorneys, the law interns will have the opportunity to conduct intake, research legal issues as necessary, and dispense advice to our callers. The law interns will draft self-help materials and pro se pleadings for clients as needed. If interested, interns may also get involved with our NYC Consumer Law Clinic or engage in discrete legal research and writing projects.
NEDAP accepts intern applications for the school year, and for the summer.
